Have you ever wondered what colours taste like?

"Thomas can't see colours, but he can hear them and smell them and touch them and taste them."
"Red is sour like unripe strawberries and as sweet as watermelon. It hurts when he finds it on his scraped knee."
(from: The Black Book of Colours by Menena Cottin and Rosana Faria)

I ordered this book last week and it arrived yesterday. It's a very special book. It's called "The Black Book of Colours" and it's completely black, but it's about colours - about the way blind people experince colours. The book is written in Braille and it has black illustrations that you have to explore by touch. Of course, there's the white text for people to read, too, and the illustrations are visible, as well. The book connects the world of the blind and the world of the sighted people. It's fantastic! I just wish there were more such books available!
