The Zulu Love Letter Pin
I've been making bead jewellery lately. I've got a book called "Zulu Inspired Beadwork" and I've found some pretty interesting patterns there. This is just one of them. It's the so called Zulu Love Letter Pin. "The Zulu Love Letter Pin" is probably the most widely known item of Zulu beadwork. Girls bead special secret messages within the designs and give them to their boyfriends. The boys then wear them around their neck or pinned to their clothing. Of course, the more love letters a boy has, the more of a "stud" he is recognized to be!" (From the book: "Zulu Inspired Beadwork".)
However, this is my own version of the Love Letter Pin. The colours and the pattern are my own and are not meant to represent any kind of love message. I won't give this pin to anyone, because I love the way it looks on my jeans jacket :-)
