Autumn Delights
Picked at a nearby meadow :-)
I've got this new world receiver a few days ago. It's a 9 band radio (FM, AM, SW 1-7). I'm already hooked on what's called DXing:
"DXing is the hobby of receiving and identifying distant radio or television signals, or making two way radio contact with distant stations in amateur radio, citizens' band radio or other two way radio communications." (Wikipedia: DXing) I just love discovering different stations at different times of the day or at night. I've already found stations in English, German, Italian, Croatian, Turkish, Romanian, Arabic, Chinese, and also stations broadcating from Teheran, Malaysia, Africa, Russia, India and some other parts of the world. However, what I really enjoy is finding the "oddballs" - channels with very faint signals or strange "alien" frequencies. I've already found a channel broadcasting Morse code and a channel where two guys were chatting via a two-way radio.I can't wait to discover more! I'm also planning to get a two-way radio transmitter and see (or, hear) what I can do with it :-)
