A Complaint-Free World

A complaint free world! Who wouldn't want to live in a world, where nobody would ever utter another complaint again? I know I would (like to live in one, that is)! A couple of days ago I happened to watch the Oprah show and there was this inspiring piece on a complaint-free world.
Somewhere in the States a minister decided to start an amazing campaign: to spread the idea of A COMPLAINT-FREE WORLD. He went about it in a most ingenious way - he gave people something to do. Let me explain. He decided to give out violet bracelets (you know, those rubber bands with various inscriptions on them) with "A Complaint Free World" written on them. His idea was that a person should wear the bracelet on one hand for 21 days in a row. But each time that person made a complaint, he or she would have to switch the bracelet from one hand to the other. (I'm sure that meant a full working day for some people.) Pretty cool, ha? So, in order to do that, the minister started giving away free bracelets. So far his parishioners have sent a couple of millions of these bracelets all over the world!
Not that I'm a big complaining type myself, but after seeing the show I decided to get one, too! You know, to help spread the idea. In fact, I've ordered a couple of them - I intend to give them to my family members and to some friends, too - I just hope that the rubber bands won't get torn too quickly! ;-)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Another post for today (my first successful upload of one of my videos :-) - do congratulate ;-) ). These are 2 of my dove-family. They are called Poppy and Tschoopy. They visit me regularly, or rather, they visit their seed-bowl regularly. I feed them sunflower seeds. Well, the video is just a short one, because a car spooked the two birds and they flew away. I'll try to catch them again and post that up here, too. Hope you like it!

The first autumn day

Today is the first autumn day! We had lovely weather, so my mum and I decided to go outside and sit in the back garden - after all, it might be the last day this year to be able to do so. Naturally, I took my new camcorder with me and made some lovely photos. Among them were also these four, which I find very interesting. The white lines you can see are actual clouds (not traces of jet planes!!!)! I've never seen clouds in such a geometrically regular pattern! Does anyone know how such cloud-patterns are formed and how they are called? If you do, please, let me know!

However, it wasn't only me that enjoyed the pattern - all of a sudden 5 hawks appeared out of nowhere and started "sailing" under the cloudy net. I wonder, was it the pattern or thermodynamics that attracted them? I do have 2 photos of one of the hawks, as well, but they're not particularly sharp, so I decided not to post them here.

Well, that's about it for now.
Till next time
Yours truly

P.S.: Don't forget to congratulate me for my first upload of homemade photos! ;-)

What's new?

Well, it's been more than two months since my last post. By now you're probably wondering what's new in my part of the world. Hmmm, let me see where to start...
First of all, I've found myself a new hobby: Alarm fur Cobra 11 - die Autobahnpolizei. I'm trying to improve my German by watching this great, action-packed German series and I must admit that the results are already visible (or, rather audible)! :-)

Next, I've bought myself a camcorder - a digital one! It has a million functions: you can use it as a camera, a camcorder, a dictaphone, an mp4 player, you can add voice tags to photos, and there's a bunch of other thigs, too. Now, I'm running around with it, making home movies of my family and nature around our house. I've already made some nice movies of my doves and a couple of pictures of MacGyver - the hedgehog. I just have to figure out how to upload the videos on my blog - so, be prepared for some homemade "Dove dinner" movies (the two birds were namely eating on my windowsill when I recorded them).
I've also committed myself to some serious workout - I do exercises on my new LegMagic machine. This is actually the first time I've managed to do my exercises regularly every day. And I've already achieved some visible results!! Normally I'd be too lazy to work out at all, but this time I intend to keep up with the programme! Keep your fingers crossed!
Well, that's about as exciting as it gets here in my corner of the world.
Till next time
Yours truly
