Snowballs
The snow that was first supposed to fall 2 days ago, still hasn't come... Anyway, snow or not, I decided to make my own little snowballs. The two little balls on the photo are the beginning of my "Christmas ornaments" collection. I have a huge supply of beads, so I decided to make myself some special Christmas tree ornaments. These balls are about 2cm big and are handmade. The reason for an early start with the making of these balls is that they take some time to make (it takes me about 2 hours to make 3, perhaps 4 of them). So, if I want to decorate the entire Christmas tree with them, I need to start making them now :-)

Still waiting for the snow...
Well, as much as it looked like it was going to snow today, it didn't... What a disappointment! :( Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
Here's a shot for the day: my shower-partner ;-)

Waiting for the snow to come...
As I'm writing this, it's raining pretty heavily outside. And guess what: We're expecting the first snow during the night! :-))) I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning, look out of the window and discover that everything is covered by a soft white blanket... :-)

Another lovely day gone by
Well, another lovely day is slowly coming to an end. I ordered another 4 books. This time, they were fairy tales: Possum Magic, Wombat Divine, Koala Lou and The Jolly Postman. I'm still a softy as far as fairy tales go - as you can see, I take good care of my inner child ;-)
Here's another photo for the day: a red rose from our friends' garden, freshly cut yesterday - one of the last ones for this year :-) Enjoy yourselves! :-)

Back on-line
Last Thursday, soon after I finished uploading the photos from the Turkish Night, my Internet connection broke down and it was not until early this afternoon that I got it back. Finally!! However, I have been pretty busy in the meantime.
I finished the paper on blogs that I've been writing! :-) I started making hand-made bead ornaments for my Christmas tree. I will post photos of them when I finish the collection. I ordered 3 new books and I can't wait for them to arrive: one is a DIY-type of book, one is about beads and beading and the third one is about knots and how to make jewlery with them. I also bought another book about photography, which I'm currently studying.
As you can see, despite my Internet blackout, I didn't just sit around doing nothing ;-)
I'll be back soon! Until then, enjoy the "Ljubljana at Night" collection of photos I posted on my Flickr site - the photo on the right is the first one in the collection :-)

Frankfurt after Frankfurt - Links
Here are two links that I forgot to post in my last entry:
Frankfurt after Frankfurt book market and exhibition
Serdar Ozkan

Frankfurt after Frankfurt
This photo is symbolical for what's going to happen tomorrow.
Tomorrow I'm going to the annual Frankfurt after Frankfurt book market and exhibition. Every year, there is a guest country exhibition at the event and this year the guest country is Turkey. So, first I'm going to see the Turkish literature exhibition and afterwards I'm going to attend an interview with a young Turkish writer Serdar Ozkan. I'm looking forward to tomorrow already! :-)

Another day gone by...
... and another week is about to begin. Well, it's been a cosy, but working day. I've done some studying and taken some photos (this rose is one of them). I've congratulated my neighbour on her new car. I've posted two new photos on my Flickr site and I'm finishing my busy day by posting this blog entry.
Let's see what tomorrow will bring! :-)

At the end of the day...
I haven't posted anything for a couple of days now. The reason: my computer was "at the doctor's". I had it serviced, but now my "electronic lifesupport" is back and I'm finally online again :-)
I posted this photo on my Flickr site, so here it is - just to add some visual support to my post ;-)

26
Today I celebrated my 26th birthday! Well, officially, my birthday is not over yet - to be precise, two more hours to go (it's ten o'clock as I'm writing this post). It was a lovely, quiet day. I'm not particularly big on parties, so I just spent the day doing things that I like most: sleeping in, watching TV, taking some photos and reading. I also took out some old photo-albums and spent some time watching my past over breakfast (as you can see from the photo ;-) ).
About 20 or so years ago, everything was so much simpler: eating, sleeping and playing ruled my life. The country I spent the first third of my life in was Yugoslavia. We had about three TV channels to watch cartoons on and two radio stations to listen to. I was just learning to use the phone - we had a big, bright red one with the "twist-the-numbers" dial. Yes, back then we still had the time to turn each number and wait for the dial to turn back! When we went on holidays, we took time to get to wherever we wanted to come. I still remember the lovely rides in our VW Beetle!
Today, everything is different. We live life on the fast lane... unfortunately. No more time to turn the numbers on the big red phone - we have speed dial on our mobiles... No more turning on the TV and watching whatever is on - we absolutely must surf all three-hundred-and-something channels on our cable... No more nice radio shows in the evenings - nice shows just don't exist any more (turn on the radio and all you can hear are just boring commercials)... Well, not everything is bad, though. We do live in our own, independent country Slovenia now. And the one good thing that still accompanies me is our old, faithful VW Beetle, which I now drive myself :-)
Well, there's just one more thing left for me to say in this post: Happy birthday to me! :-)))
